This policy explains how GreenLoop Living handles personal data when you use greenloop-living.co.uk. It covers what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and your rights under UK data protection law. The site is operated by GreenLoop Living, an editorial resource based in the United Kingdom.
This document applies to the website only. It does not cover third-party sites linked from our pages.

Personal data
We collect personal data only when you choose to provide it, and nothing on this site is sold, so no payment details are ever requested.
The main route is the contact form, where you enter your name, email address, and message. We use those fields only to read and answer what you send.
If you email [email protected] directly, we receive whatever you include in that email, including any attachments you add.
We do not require account registration, and we do not collect payment details because nothing on the site is sold. Reading our zero waste tips for beginners, our low waste home guide pages, or any upcycling projects does not require you to hand over personal data.
Purpose
Every message you send has one job: to get an answer back to you. Nothing is added to a marketing list, and no newsletter is sent from this address.
Contact form submissions and emails are used to answer the message you sent.
If you send a correction, we use the details to verify the point and apply the fix to the page.
If you suggest a topic, we use the message to plan future zero waste tips and guides.
No marketing. We do not use your data to send promotions, and we do not run newsletters.
No resale. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for their own purposes.
UK GDPR
Under the UK GDPR, we process contact form data on the basis of legitimate interest, because responding to messages is necessary for running an editorial site. Where you provide consent for any optional feature, we rely on that consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
If you have questions about the legal basis for a specific processing activity, contact us using the details below.

Retention
Contact form messages and emails are kept for as long as needed to resolve the query, and then for a reasonable period afterwards in case of follow-up. After the retention period, messages are deleted.
Message received
Your message is read and answered. Nothing about it is used beyond the reply.
Follow-up window
In practice, messages are usually kept for up to twelve months so a later question can be matched to the earlier thread.
Editorial record
Corrections that result in a page update may be kept longer if the correspondence is relevant to the site's editorial record. Everything else is deleted.
Cookies
The site uses cookies only where necessary for it to function. If analytics are used, they are configured to avoid identifying individual visitors where possible. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
The Cookie Policy explains what is set and how to manage it in your browser.
Read the cookie policyNo. Only the cookies needed to run the site are set. Guides such as the zero waste starter guide, the low waste home guide chapters, and the upcycling projects pages remain readable if you block cookies in your browser.
If analytics are switched on, they are set to avoid identifying individual visitors where possible. We do not build reader profiles and we do not use reading habits to target advertising. Articles on how to reduce household waste, composting food scraps at home, or plastic free alternatives are read the same way by everyone.
Use your browser's settings to view and delete stored cookies. Every major browser lists them by site, so you can clear anything from greenloop-living.co.uk without affecting other sites. Blocking cookies does not change how guides on beeswax wraps usage and care or reusable produce bags are shown to you.
Any external site we link to, such as a supplier of sustainable home essentials or a plastic free food storage reference, sets its own cookies once you arrive there. We are not responsible for those practices, and we recommend reading their policies before providing personal data.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to ask for it to be corrected, to ask for it to be deleted, to restrict or object to processing, and to request a copy in a portable format. You also have the right to withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the Contact page; we will respond within the timeframe required by law.
Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, in a format you can take elsewhere. We confirm what is held and where it came from.
Ask us to fix anything inaccurate, or to remove your message entirely. Once a message is deleted it is gone from our records and not recoverable.
Deletion does not undo a page correction you asked for, because the published guide is separate from the correspondence.
Ask us to pause processing while a question is looked into, or object to the legitimate-interest basis for handling a message. We reply with the outcome.
Withdrawing consent for an optional feature stops that processing from that point on.
Send rights requests through the Contact page with enough detail for us to find your message. We may ask one clarifying question to confirm we are looking at the right record before acting.
Security
Data sent through the contact form is transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored on services used to run the site. We choose providers that apply reasonable security measures, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
The site may link to external websites, including shops for sustainable home essentials or reference pages on the upcycling vs recycling difference. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we recommend reading their policies before providing personal data.
Updates
We may update this policy to reflect changes in how the site operates or in legal requirements. The current version is always published on this page, and the effective date is shown below.
If a change significantly affects how personal data is handled, we will make that clear on the site rather than rely on you spotting an edit here.
Questions about anything on this page can go to the same inbox as everything else.
